DC Greens connects communities to healthy food in the nation’s capital. This local nonprofit supports school garden programs across the District with large-scale teacher training workshops and technical assistance; we run an incentive program to match SNAP (food stamps) and WIC purchases at four DC farmers’ markets; we are a key partner for the Fruit and Vegetable Prescription Program in DC; we run the Glover Park-Burleith Farmers’ Market; we are the nonprofit home of the DC Farm to School Network, and we will be managing the Rooting DC conference this year. DC Greens’ founders were recipients of the Eat Local First Week’s 2012 “Femivore” Award.
