Ross Business Management
Ross Business Management offers a comprehensive start-up package which helps small businesses owners get set up with a bookkeeping system. After an initial consultation, a specialist will enroll the business in the best cloud software, configure the software to meet the business’s specific needs, and then train the business owner to manage his or her bookkeeping with confidence. One-on-one training covers basic business bookkeeping, how to navigate accounting software, what is required to stay compliant with the government, and how to make accurate tax payments.
Ace Hardware
As a benefit to Think Local First commercial members we are pleased to offer a discounted account program to all businesses in the District (retail businesses, offices, restaurants, etc). Clovest is a DC-based company that helps businesses raise money for growth projects from their customers and local community. Specifically, they provide a web platform, payment solution, and legal framework to make such community-led funding possible. In return for backing projects of local businesses, funders have their contributions repaid on a quarterly basis! Learn how it works
Clovest and Think Local First DC have partnered to expand local business’ access to financing for growth projects. This initiative not only helps local businesses leverage community-led funding on Clovest, but also increases these business’ visibility and underscores their commitment to creating a sustainable, local economy in Washington D.C. Through the partnership, business members of Think Local First DC receive discounts during the fundraising application process and enjoy personalized support services throughout the funding process.
The owner of Clovest also serves as a committee member for ThinkLocalFirst DC and advises on matters pertaining to small business finance and innovations in the community capital space.
DC SEU
The District of Columbia Sustainable Energy Utility (DC SEU) helps District residents, businesses, and institutions save energy and money through energy efficiency and renewable energy programs. Led by the Sustainable Energy Partnership and under contract to the District Department of the Environment (DDOE), the DC SEU is committed to environmental preservation, community engagement, and economic development.
